While working at Award winning studio Glassworks as Head of Nuke, I worked on several commercials projects, but this one was by far my favorite, mainly because I was involved from pre-production right to post production.
Working closely with Phil Lintern the producer at glasssorks on the project as well as Directors: Karni and Saul from Rokkit Pictures, I created Previz in Maya with a CG artist while in discussion with the DOP about how to shoot the scenes and match the lighting of exterior shoots with the internal green-screen shoot.
I attended a gruelling 2 week shoot at Black Island Studios where not only was I VFX supervising but I provided on set Post Viz support using Shake on my Mac book pro, working with rushes from the shoot (still images from SLR camera as it was a stop motion shoot) and doing quick comps to show DOP, directors and the client (ad agency) what was working and what wasn’t.. and address them instantly on the shoot or see what can be fixed in post instantly.
After the shoot, I was then responsible for making sure all the plates were on the server and elements linked to the right shot so that the compositing team and myself can start working on the shots. I comped the shots for the first Spot campaign (" titled: look better") using Nuke, the remaining 2 spots were comped by Flame compositors.
