Fear immobilizes. But how does immobility relate to fear? A hen helps explain such a complex phenomenon. The experiment, first described in the 17th century, does not require any special technologies. Just catch and keep a hen still for a few moments: the animal, fluttering brightly until then, remains still, as if hypnotized. The phenomenon was used in time as a magic number, until it was studied scientifically more recently. This stop reaction can easily be produced in an experimental context, and was known in the past as "animal hypnosis". Now it is referred to as Tonic Immobility. In natural conditions, it occurs in animals as an extreme defence from predators, when escape is impossible. Un animale si paralizza di fronte al predatore quando non può scappare. Una persona resta inerme di fonte all'aggressore. In comune lo stesso meccanismo biologico, spesso alla base dell'intenso trauma che la vittima vive. Un documentario fra psicologia comparata, psicoterapia e medicina legale.

Storia del presunto impiego delle penne esplosive da parte degli Alleati in Italia durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
Alcune voci giunte fino ai nostri giorni nella memoria di molti che vissero il periodo bellico riportavano che dopo i bombardamenti aerei fosse comune imbattersi in oggetti a forma di penna, che esplodevano ai primi tentativi di manipolazione. Inquietanti cartelli, sparsi un pò dovunque, che ammonivano di non toccare questi oggetti, e i racconti sui giornali, incoraggiavano il diffondersi della storia delle penne.
Nonostante la grande diffusione di questi racconti è difficile reperire studi che abbiano raccolto e approfondito le notizie sul reale impiego di ordigni esplosivi mascherati da oggetti innocui.
Quella delle penne esplosive divenne tuttavia una delle voci più durature del periodo bellico in Italia. In questo video approfondiremo la vera storia delle penne esplosive.
