Concluding the evening before Marquez would claim yet another first place MotoGP finish, The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show I in Austin, TX was back-to-back days of staggering awesome. Thousands of #motonerds strolled in and out of the doors of our space those two days to soak in everything available: custom motorcycles, The Wall of Death, art, vintage and customized jackets, food, booze, music, and camaraderie. We had the distinct pleasure of spending time with old friends and making new ones that all share the same passion for anything and everything bespoke. We'd like to thank everyone that came out for the event, be it builders, artists, or just folks stopping by to ogle. None of this was possible without your support. We'll see you next year!
The Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association (WMRRA) was established in 1974 to sanction and promote area road racing. That year, a small group of enthusiastic racers decided they needed to band together and create a club so they could sanction and run their own racing events at the popular racing track in Kent, WA, then known as Seattle International Raceways. WMRRA is a non-profit, volunteer run organization with over 500 members.
Since that time, WMRRA has grown to become one of the most popular motorcycle racing clubs in North America. Many top WMRRA racers have gone onto become national and international race winners and champions, not to mention U.S.A's first world champion, Steve Baker.
Close racing action can be seen on a variety of bikes. From the nimble little 125 GP machines - to the insanely fast 190+ HP Formula Ultra superbikes, and everything in between. Singles, Twins, Triples, Fours, Harleys, Vintage bikes and the occasional sidecar are pushed to the limit on any given WMRRA weekend. If it has 2 wheels, chances are we race it! Spectators have incredible access to many great viewing points around the tracks at which we race. From breathtaking cornering with insane lean angles, to long straights with top speeds in excess of 170 mph, those viewing the races from the safety of the spectator areas will be treated to a unique experience that can only be found in the naked aggression of a motorcycle road race.
