This is the first snowfall of the winter and the sandhill cranes are more subdued than usual. After the blastoff they remained in the area, occasional change position by a couple hundred yards. Filmed in early November.
Who would think there could be drama and contorversy at a pile of fox scat? Several butterfly species were competing for food at this site with the mourning cloaks eventually becoming the winners. The relationship between foxes and butterflies was not one I would have thought of until watching this activity.
