The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic is a 111km ultra-marathon held overnight, on the Hawkesbury River in NSW Australia. Hundreds of paddlers push themselves up to 20 hours through the night to raise money for Leukaemia research, via the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation. Team Fat Paddler put 10 paddlers on the river in 9 boats, supported by 20 landcrew members.
Team Fat Paddler's own Greek, Gelo, has finished his stint with the team as he moves away from Sydney back to Europe. Here's a classic montage and interview dedicated to Gelo's time with TFP. FatPaddler.com
After a winter storm surge smashed Sydney with up 6m waves, plenty of swell made its way into Sydney Harbour. The TFP crew spent a few hours playing in small and bigger surf around Grotto Point and Chinaman's Beach. None of the bigger stuff captured on camera, but plenty of the smaller stuff.
