This is the video and audio of AIGA Colorado's "Giving Back" presentation about giving back to the community. This was presented at this year's AIGA_09 Leadership conference in Portland, Oregon.

The video focuses on our chapter's initiatives over the past two years to reach out to the design community in Colorado, including a new scholarship endowment and numerous mentorship programs. The video also introduces the AIGA (Re)designAwards: a national competition to recognize sustainable and socially responsible design.

By sharing our story, we hope to inspire others to give back to their design communities across the country.

AIGA Colorado's april event was a tour and lecture with AIGA Associate Curator of Graphic Design, Darrin Alfred of the exhibit The Psychedelic Experience: Rock Posters from the San Francisco Bay Area 1965-71. Though this tour was one night the exhibit itself runs through July 19, 2009.

The show, curated by Darrin, is an amazing look inside one of the nations most extensive collections of psychedelic rock posters from the mid 60s to early 70s. Also as part of the exhibit there is an interactive area called the "Psychedelic Side Trip" which allows you to craft poster art, listen to vinyl, and create some liquid light shows of your own.

The Colorado Chapter of AIGA is having a skateboard design show at Access gallery in Denver CO on Dec 12th. This is a mentorship program that was put together by Matt Bargell and sponsors Core Action and Access Gallery.
