Since assisting in the first successful hand transplant in 1999, a feat once considered unimaginable, Dr. Linda Cendales has continued to push the boundaries of what’s possible. She has pioneered efforts to improve, and apply, immune medications, which may eventually make transplants of hands, faces and other body parts as common as the heart transplant.
