Klosterfelde presents Two into One becomes Three (2011), Matt Mullican’s fourth solo-show with the gallery, opening during this year’s Berlin Gallery Weekend. The work on view, comprised of 70 individual large-scale panels (oil-stick and acrylic on canvas), is featuring one of the artist’s signature techniques, the rubbing.

The show at Carlier Gebauer gallery in Berlin features a total of 20
colour photographs, the majority of which are diptychs of various
formats. People and situations in the city where the artist lives are
shown at their most ordinary in works titled for location, date and
"CAR CULURE" turns the big hall of the Lentos into a parking lot: shiny replicas of sports cars, "Ferrari" like but only pedal driven, and crahed "Porsches" mingle with iconic VW Beetles and a "Trabbi" turned into a luxury limousine. Until July 4, 2012.

In the Clegg & Guttmann show"Portraits and Other Cognitive Exercises 2001–2012" at BAWAG contemporary the photographic portrait is central. The aesthetic conventions of historical 16th and 17th century portraiture provide the contextual framework. Clegg & Guttmann explore the codes of status, influence and capital and create a look for the rich and beautiful, representing value, impact, power and appeal.
