in conjunction to the japan austria year 2009, the installation "mashUp" featured an utopia like view of the streets of the city of vienna. by taking live video from a camera, facing a part of the famous "ringstrasse" and mixing it up with prerecorded video footage from real life shots and movies relating to the japanese culture, thus a virtual window develops itself, giving view on a city of mixed up architecture, inhabitants and feelings.
the installation was part of a group exhibition by the name "ca2jō" displayed in a glass cube, featuring entirely different artworks from 7 artists. "mashUp" was shown by a video projector on one of the glass doors facing the street. the live feed taking from the city scene was recorded by a camera that is connected to a windows pc. using the free processing software puredata makes it possible not only to broadcast the feed to the projector but also overlay it with different footage located on the computers harddrive in realtime. the projection ran 24…

this movie describes the problems, young people have in salzburg, concering young culture and non-commercial places in this city. especially with mozart and the "festspiele", it´s very hard for young people to fit it, and actually make culture by themselves.
the documentary was shot during one year and is now beeing shown in cinemas in salzburg and austria.

Ein Highlight der Aktivitäten zu 20 Jahre KKA war die Ausstellung "Da, Dort & Dazwischen – 20 Jahre KulturKontakt Austria" (14.10. - 27.11.2009), für welche Elke Krasny als Kuratorin gewonnen werden konnte. Gemeinsam mit dem Bühnenbildner und Künstler Ivan Bazak und dem Grafiker Alexander Schuh wurden die räumlichen und visuellen Elemente der Ausstellung entwickelt. Die Ausstellung erzählt die Geschichte der Institution, sowie deren Verschränkung mit der kultur- und bildungspolitischen Geschichte Österreichs und Ost- und Südosteuropas.
