Kleifarvatn is the largest lake on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland, situated in the southern part of the peninsula on the fissure zone of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The lake can be reached via a track, and there are two areas with high temperature that can be found not far from it: Seltún/Krýsuvík and another to the east. The lake's greatest depth is 97 m. After the big earthquake in 2000, the lake began to diminish, and 20% of its surface has since disappeared.
The cracks that opened up in the earthquake have since then slowly filled again and by 2008 the lake had regained its previous surface level.

As a learning exercise, and something to challenge myself, I wanted to try to combine two of my favorite things: motion-graphics and time-lapse photography.
I also wanted to see if I could stretch my editing techniques a little further.
The VLA really is a legitimately amazing thing to see in person. If you've ever considered making a visit, you should.
It's an awe-inspiring feat of human engineering, and the surroundings are gorgeous. Unbelievable skies in New Mexico. I caught some nasty weather, but it was still a great experience. I'm definitely going back!

They say it's gloomy, it's cloudy, it's wet, I say it's paradise. I’ve been in The Pacific Northwest about three years now and have fallen head over heels for the place. This timelapse video is the first of what I hope to be many visual projects exploring the region and - at the very least - getting me out of the house.
Many thanks to Kai Engel (Anton Fedchenkov) for his wonderful piano piece, Irsen’s Tale. You can find Anton's Creative Commons work at freemusicarchive.org/music/Kai_Engel/.

Awesome Timelapse Showcase
Anyone can stick a Go-Pro on a tripod and make a timelapse. NOT everyone can produce timelapses like these. In recognition of the extra skill required to expertly shoot, de-flicker, stabilise, cut to music, add dynamic movement and generally create something awesome, this channel to showcases those awesome timelapses that really are a cut above the rest.
