And here is the first Crusade race in the "Race In Convenient Video Form" series... Alpenrose. This one is really about the spectators. I've heard cross described as "a tailgater with everyone getting a chance to play a half". It has to be one of the most crowd friendly sports around. I'm also surprised at how many families participate. And the kids. So many kids, and they really seem into it. It's great to see em' race but also to see them…

The peer pressure has been mounting and the cross bike finally arrived, so I ventured out to Wilsonville and Cross Crusade race #2 while the weather was still good. I placed 25th of 68 in the beginner women's field. And managed not to look like a total noob. It's true what they say--cross is really fun about 30 minutes after it's over. :)
