Critically-acclaimed professional Miami writer/director duo Diego and Andres Meza-Valdes (brothers) have teamed up with the BORSCHT Film Festival for their latest film Play Dead. In Play Dead, a zombie apocalypse unites a ragtag pack of dogs in the ruined streets of Miami. Immune to the epidemic, the dogs must stick together to survive in a city now inhabited by ferocious undead and leftover human survivors.
Part of BORSCHT’s 2011 Film Festival, which pairs local filmmakers and musicians, Play Dead combines the horror and gore of the Meza-Valdes brothers with the whimsical rockabilly of Rachel Goodrich, and “murder-folk” musician Amigo the Devil.

The Borscht Film Festival (est. 2005) is Miami's fresh local independent film fest. We are a yearly event held at iconic Miami venues that commissions and showcases films created by emerging artists telling Miami stories that go beyond the typical portrayal of the city as a beautiful but vapid party town, forging the cinematic identity of the city. We are the home of the CCCV New Wave.
