    Mix between Kubrick's 2001 Monolith and Superman's Kriptonite. :)

Built with Processing + Audio by Aphex Twin.

Experimenting with new shapes. No image post processing, almost realtime visuals (need to optimize a bit how processing work with textures to get a good fps).

little experiment on the matter of space in processing
i wished to make this kind of animation so long everytime i watch title sequences at the beginning of movies
user input is not involved at the moment
used cellnoise library again and it is useful that giving more choice on the noise (different modes)
video recorded with moviemaker by shiffman

This is some realtime rendering experiments I made few months ago. I have always used "complex" shapes and 3d models before in my demos and never played with cubes before. This is actually a challenge for me, to make something watchable that only contains cubes. Hopefully, with the help of Simon [vimeo.com/user172715/] I will manage to do something interesting just with this cool shapes.

Rendering contains some kind of Ambient

Rendering contains some kind of Ambient Occlusion, and real motion blur. I still need to improve those thou, but that's not the point at this stage.

Boxes are one of the "atoms" or "primal forms" within the formal canon of the generative art community. As such, many artists have explored this territory, each with their own particular interpretation of the theme. This group is a place to explore the diversity of this shared subject.

Everyone is welcome to participate, and images of all kinds are welcome, so long as the primary content is boxes. For the purposes of this group, "boxes" means 2-D or 3-D squares, rectangles, cubes and other rectangular solids, both implicit and explicit.

(If it has straight lines that connect at 90-degree angles to form an area or volume, then it's probably appropriate. If it's full of curves or circles or non-orthogonal angles, then probably not. A little non-box content is ok, but it should be "mostly" boxes.)
