Here at Strutta we enjoy our coffee, especially our espresso. This is a tribute to the drink that fuels our day.

Timelapse (15x realtime) of brewing coffee using a Yama vacuum brewer (also called a vacuum pot or coffee siphon/syphon).

I step in to stir it three times, with a brewing time of about 3 minutes. I don't know how much stirring is actually necessary, but I'm sure too much can't hurt.

Compared to other brewing methods, this is far less practical and convenient. But the coffee it makes is absolutely incredible. Imagine a French press that could use fine grounds, brew at near-boiling temperatures the entire time, extract FAR more flavor, and leave zero sediment in the cup.

I wanted to test out the Canon 5D Mark II's video capabilities and doing an espresso making demo seemed like a nice way to do it. Obviously I have a lot to learn about working in a narrow depth of focus but it was a fun project to work on.
