Computers are good at speed, numbers, and massive amounts of data, but understanding even a simple drawing is more elusive. Researchers at Brown and the Technical University of Berlin have produced a computer application that can identify simple abstract sketches of objects almost as often (56 percent of the time) as human viewers ( 73 percent).
Featuring videos that showcase Brown’s vibrant and diverse community of 6,000 undergraduates, 2,000 graduate students, 400 medical school students, and nearly 700 faculty members.
