Set myself a goal to produce a video within one hour. It was raining, so there you are. Used two filters, b/w and enhanced contrast. Would be nice to bring the highlights down a bit, so plenty more testing lying ahead. Was fun though.

Shot in a tunnel with the Canon HV20 set in 24p cinematic mode using only natural light. The time of day was key as the sun created a flood of light at the tunnel's north end. This allowed for a sharp contrast between the shots in the first half of the song and the ones that appear during and following the bridge. We wanted the images to reflect the shift in the music. This was our first experience shooting with the camera set to record in black and white.

Tunnels are notorious for having drafts. This one was no exception. The wind was very strong that day as well and though incredibly annoying during the shoot, it ended up as a blessing in disguise. Without it the shots would not have the same impact. And what you don't see in the video are the scads of mosquitoes and yellow jackets that made for a more than uncomfortable shoot. Colleen is covered in bites that luckily do not show despite the HV20's keen eye. Making videos is often far from glamorous.

this probably isn't the best you've seen. at least we tried. let us know what you think. let us know how we can improve. so people won't say we are wasting time day dreaming.

I love timelapsed cloudscapes but I do prefer close-ups (with no visible landscape). That way, they really shine. Clouds are so dreamy and beautiful speeded up.

I also enjoy 'dressing them up' a bit. This was done in MBL. I did a similar cloudscape movie 4 months ago: vimeo.com/863409 graded in Sony Vegas and without an adapter - not that the adapter does much to clouds anyway.

There's about 45-60 minutes of cumulus cloud footage compressed into this clip.
