Cameron Shinn is a sixth grade English teacher and chairman of the English department at Preston Middle School in Fort Collins, Colorado. Shinn has participated in the International Telementor Program with four classrooms of students over the past few years. He shares his reflections about how to maximize student engagement through non-scripted authentic work based on the interests of each of his students. He also shares the impact of mentors as they help students develop a myriad of collaboration skills.
