and Design at NYU, gives a talk at the 2011 Campus Development Summit on how NYU has used an in-house planning office to clearly define project scope, schedules, and budgets. She explains how they empower their project managers to lead creative teams to high-performance design solutions by looking at constraints as opportunities for creativity. Rejecting the notion that the only creative solutions are ones that think OUTSIDE the Box, the presentation examined the design process for projects completed at NYU by world-famous architects to see the positive impact that setting limitations can have on project outcomes.
