Finally made it down to the Cruise Night hosted by the Classic Knights Car Club. The Cruise Night is held every Saturday night from 6-9 P.M. in the A & P grocery store Parking Lot (weather permitting). There are games for the kids and the adults, live DJ Music by Jukebox Jimmy, Trophies, and a 50/50 Raffle. Food is available at the nearby Friendly's restaurant, or at the Deli counter in the A & P grocery store. All in all, a fun time was had by all, and I hope to be back to this Cruise Night July 14, 2012, when the NJ 2012 Trans Am Run ends its tour at the Ferry Rd Cruise Night

This was the 30th annual Spring Show/Swap Meet at the Englishtown/Raceway Park Race Track, located on Pension rd, in Old Bridge New Jersey. The skies were overcast for the early part of the day, and that, plus nearly four dollar a gallon gasoline, compounded by a change for the Show date from late April, to the first weekend in May, would account for the participant turnout being about half what it had been from 1983, to 2001. One factor that probably helped keep the participant turnout from being even lower than it was, would be the change in the rules regarding what types of vehicles were allowed on Saturday and Sunday, and how the vehicles were parked on the Show Field. In years past, even though a “People’s Choice” Trophy award system is used for the Spring Show, one could only bring their Streetrod, Hotrod, Modified, or Racecar on Saturday, and stock production was restricted to Sunday only. Also, up until this year’s Show, vehicles had to be parked by category, one could not park…
Video of our meeting, during which our past year's Meet, and other events were covered, along with the upcoming 2012 season's events. A Member presentation was also part of our Meeting.
The Corvette Club Car-Truck Show debuted to clear skies (what a change over the last 2 months), but as they day wore on, the temperature, hit somewhere around 85 degrees, making the day a bit less enjoyable than it could have been.
Vehicle turnout this year appeared to be down, despite the clear skies, and can only be attributed to the ongoing 10 year long economic Depression.
Overall though, it was a nice Show, predominately attended by, well, Corvette owners and their vehicles, with a smaller, but nice contingent of Fords, GM products other than Corvettes, and Mopars.
The non car related nice features of this Show, are all paved parking for the Show vehicles, indoor Bathroom facilities, food available both inside, and outside, and ease of access to the location where the Show is held.
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
