Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton is the first kitesurfing race from Rottnest Island to Perth, Western Australia, a distance of 19km through open ocean won by frenchman Alex Caizergues. Held on the 11th December 2010 with 50 competitors competing.
The WA Kite Surfing Association ran the inaugural WAKSA Wedge Island Wave Comp on November 13th 2010.
The event was a great success with 50 competitors in Juniors, Amateurs, Opens, Masters and Grand Masters divisions. We had 1.5m swell and 20-28 knot winds on the day!
Waves were average, wind was light, but I was so stoked to get in the water the past couple of days and it was pretty fun. love you long time home!
