A clip show from the New Years parade for my kids elementary school, West Portal Elementary --which should explain the Justin Biber music (thanks justin...).
I believe all these are shot with my Canon 5D Mark2 an auto pilot. The light was just awful at dusk, plus it was overcast and raining, and down pouring. But when the parade started, it miraculously stopped.
I tried to add some light towards the evening with a shoe mounted light panel, but really felt that the auto ISO was actually doing very well even into the evening.
The well lit areas, are in a TV zone in front of Macy's in Union Square. But just around the corner, there was amazing ambiant light coming from the surrounding buildings, and street lights...
I also got to do a dolly shot, ie, me jumping onto an open bed truck leading the ribbon and fan girls up the street. One of my favorite shots... Was worth getting my ears blown out by the music, and sitting in a puddle of water.
ejoy!

Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
