Our quest with this video was to see how drastically an image could change using only the ISO setting. The idea was to shoot the same image with two identical cameras: one set to a very high ISO, and one to a very low ISO. The thought was that if we had an image with a lot of contrast…

This is 10 hour long timelapse filmed from 8pm on August 27th until 6am on August 28th.
The camera is positioned on the north shore of Mystic Lake just off of the Wonderland Trail on Mount Rainier. Mount Rainier is on the right and Mineral Mountain is on the left.
There is quite a bit of noise in this sequence of shots. This is due to the high ISO used during capture, the fact that the images were captured in RAW format and that the brightness…
So we got our new Mysterium-X sensor upgrade to our Red One camera last week and wanted to give it a bit of a torture test. So on Friday night myself, Ivan Kovac, James Okubo and a model, Valeria, headed down to Yoyogi Park at nighttime to make a little commercial for our new sensor to show just how good it was.
Needless to say, I was utterly blown away! What you are about to see was shot at ISO3200 at T1.9, 1/50th shutter 23.976fps. It was lit by…
Some of my early experiments of stop-motion mixed with filming at 3fps.
I like to get that old film look with lot of grain, noise and high contrast and full colors. Something DSLR's do quite good at higher ISO values. The lenses and image control make possible what no camcorder can do.
Gear: Nikon D60 @ 3fps, AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kitlens, MacBook Pro, Final Cut Studio 2.
Music: Amon Tobin - Displaced (nr.6 from the Splinter Cell album "Chaos…
These are just some test shots that were done around LA to test out the new MX sensor in the RED One. Specifically the high ISO low noise of the new sensor. All of this was shot using Nikon mount lenses. Most of them were Zeiss ZF primes.
There are also a couple of timelapse test shots in these clips. I did encounter some hot pixels but they are really hard to see on a web version of this clip.
I had a few bad pixels on the 5dmk2 sensor and I wrote a blog about it. Canon will fix the problem under warranty.

This is my first attempt at shooting a music video. I did not see the storyboards or visit the shooting locations until the day of the shoot. The entire thing was shot within two blocks of the Worcester Union Train Station (Massachusetts) in 8 hours. I was planning on…
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
