Codex is a re-invention of language for cinema. Like any lingual textbook, it associates human sounds and their phonetic symbols with a new alphabet made of light and time. This new language no longer relies on the rigidity of symbology but the modulating motion and texture of light. The infinite expression possible with this language at last allows freedom from obsolete and inarticulate systems such as the text this very note is written with.
The mission of the Bicycle Music Festival is to promote sustainable culture in general and bicycle culture in particular, by physically engaging and immersing our community in the magic of bike culture, and cultivating and nurturing a network of local sustainable musicians, through our staging of free, community participatory, bicycle-based music events.
The Bicycle Music Festival is the largest 100% bicycle-powered music festival in the world. The free, all-day (and late into the night) event takes place annually in San Francisco, California on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice.
The Bicycle Music Festival features: a 2000 watt pedal-powered PA system, as many as 15 bands, multiple festival stops, outrageous Critical Mass-style bicycle party caravans between festival stops, and zero use of cars or trucks.
With its completely bike-haulable stage, the event is packed up and deployed numerous times: staged sequentially at different public parks and also on a moving “Live On Bike”…

"C’est par le mouvement qu’on s’approprie sa propre vie. Par la liberté d’aller, de venir, d’avoir des gestes d’amour, de colère, peu importe. Quand on est privé de mouvement comme je le suis, si on veut survivre, il faut réinventer le mouvement autrement."

Special Thanks to Scott Draves, Founder of the Electric Sheep
created for The Filmshop Presents...Eye Candy
Electric Sheep is a collaborative abstract artwork founded by Scott Draves. It's run by thousands of people all over the world, and can be installed on any ordinary PC or Mac. When these computers "sleep", the Electric Sheep comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as "sheep".
Anyone watching one of these computers may vote for their favorite animations using the keyboard. The more popular sheep live longer and reproduce according to a genetic algorithm with mutation and cross-over. Hence the flock evolves to please its global audience. You can also design your own sheep and submit them to the gene pool.
The result is a collective "android dream", blending man and machine…
Film is one of the most influential mediums. This channel is devoted to those who are trying to make us think through all modes of film. Whether this means critiquing and attempts to change social/political/economical climates, or bringing about a higher consciousness.
If any one is interested in moderating, just let me know, I would be happy for the help.
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
