Extreme sound levels, like the intense noise from a Gatling gun or jet engine, can threaten hearing as well as health. In this demonstration, sound can shatter a glass or levitate an object. BYU scientists, led by physics professor Kent Gee, are studying the impact of extreme acoustics.
