Cramp My Style brings you the work of Mariclare Lawson, now conveniently to your vimeo!
Mariclare got her start at Saturday Night Live in the late 90s, proofreading in the script department. By the age of 24, she was script coordinating exclusively for "Weekend Update" with Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon, under head writer Fey and Producer Michael Schur (Co-Executive Producer/Writer, The Office). In 2002, she was honored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her contributions to the Emmy Award-Winning Achievement of SNL for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program.
For the past decade, Mariclare has been creating television magic for top networks and production companies, including Comedy Central, VH1, BBC Worldwide Americas, Sundance Channel, IFC, Court TV/Tru TV, A&E, Bravo, MTV, BET, and Oxygen/NBCUniversal.
With her signature style, Mariclare has had the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting promotional campaigns as a writer, producer and editor. She has worked with the widest spectrum of international headline-makers, from digging through interview footage of Archbishop Desmond Tutu for Sundance Channel's critically acclaimed series Iconoclasts, to launching Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, the singer's post-health scare comeback series for VH1.
A born storyteller, she never stops traveling the world, documenting it all with her camera, pen and imagination. In addition to writing for the screens of all sizes, she is working on her first book, Dopomax: A Memoir. She continues to write for the Cramp My Style blog, inspiring creative and crazy fashionistas everywhere: in the home, on the street and in their wildest dreams.
Mariclare earned her B.F.A at The Tisch School of the Arts, NYU in Film and Television Production. She also studied fine art under her father, artist Carl W. Lawson and at The Art Students League in New York.
She is the Creative Director of Cramp My Style, a boutique media agency based in downtown Manhattan. Follow her on twitter @crampmystyleTV or say "hi" on facebook/crampmystyle. As always, she is part of the conversation.
