MPC DIGITAL HAS CREATED A NEW EXPERIENCE CALLED FRACTURE, IN WHICH A 3D SCAN OF THE SUBJECT IS TRANSLATED INTO AN ANIMATED GENERATIVE ARTWORK.

Utilizing MPC’s own custom-built software and 4 Microsoft Kinect cameras, we instantly capture the image and depth data of guests from multiple angles. This data is transformed into a 10,000+ polygon 3D mesh which becomes the basis for a dynamically generated 3D sculpture. The original meshes and sculptures may be viewed and shared online.

The forms and animations are dynamically generated around the 3D meshes using the same algorithms that govern crystal and organic growth in nature. The visuals are rendered on the fly in Unity and also uploaded to our website and become part of a growing gallery of animations and meshes.

Rehearsal is a responsive system based on motion tracking technology which was made possible with the Kinect Sensor and visualized with vvvv software. The participant is invited into an environment where their silhouette is abstracted and projected onto opposing surfaces composed of lines. These lines suggest a rigid and regimented architecture. However once the participant begins to move, the rigid lines become fluid and respond, warp and fluctuate while sounds begin to resonate in response to the participants gestures. The data collected from the gestures of participants is forwarded to a synthesizer over Pure Data and processed according to the user interaction.

This installation allows participants to immerse themselves interactively by exploring panoramic images.

As the perspective changes, the viewer feels as if he or she is actually 'immersed' in the scene.

Using drones, laser beams, projection mapping, and custom tools, Marshmallow Laser Feast explores new canvases by creating interactive, real-time, magical experiences.
