Some weeks ago i had the idea to build my own dolly.
After some brainstorming i got the idea to use LEGO parts inclusive a LEGO motor. The only thing that i paid, was the tripod head to stabilize the camera on the dolly. All other parts i´ve found in the attic.
I used this selfmade dolly to shoot a video about the topic "Ashes" for an application on a degree program.
The video was done with a Nikon DSLR and a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4. The shot of the chair was handled with a Cullman Tripod, all others with the dolly.
The post-production was done with Adobe Premiere Pro (editing) and Magic Bullet Looks (color correction).

If you have any questions to the dolly or the film, feel free to comment or contact me!
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
