Filmed over three months during the spring of 2008, the film follows local lad Alex Harrison as he prepares to dance for the first time at Helston's Flora Day and features the preparation of the Cornish town and Guildhall for the celebrations. 'The First Dance', was recognised as a Cornish Heritage Film and screen at the National Maritime Museum in November 2008, as part of the Cornish Film Festival.
