On Photography Film Festival is an online film festival on photography which will be held for the second time on 19-21 September, 2014 as part of the FOTOWEEK in Holland, an initiative of Foam and the Netherlands Photo Museum. Curated by Barbera Brakel and Erica McDonald, OP-Festival is an event dedicated to spotlighting still photography and photographers through films and multimedia. On Photography will air for three days concurrent with Amsterdam's Unseen Photo Fair. Each day the online festival will screen about 2 hours of films and videos that will be available on demand for 24 hours and will be watchable all over the globe for free.

The selected works exhibit the diversity of photography and its practitioners, raise questions and provoke discussion of educational value and include the films: Meeting Sebastião Salgado by Betse de Paula, Berliner Mauer Dunkelheit by Tom Sands, Contre Jour by Val Todorov and Kaloyan Paterkov, Leaving Traces by Ivan Weiss, Portraiture by Judy Suh, 544/544 (up/down) by Thomas Mohr.

For the closing day, curator Erica McDonald has selected four pieces, including the full length documentaries Disfarmer: A Portrait of America directed by Martin Lavut , and Flo by Riley hooper, as well as Still Looking by Kate Lain, and an excerpt from Everybody Street by Cheryl Dunn.

Curator Barbera Brakel is a Dutch independent photo historian. She produces photographic events, curates exhibitions and works as in photo editor for newspapers, magazines, blogs and (corporate) archives. At present she is doing research on strategies to visually communicate a more sustainable and circular society. Co-curator Erica McDonald is a photographer and educator based in NYC. She founded DEVELOP Photo to provide resources for the enrichment of the photojournalism, fine art and documentary photography community. Her photography is regularly commissioned for magazines nationally and internationally and has been exhibited worldwide. Currently McDonald is working as an independent photo editor for a project on the LIFE photographer Priya Ramrakha.

The festival encourages viewers to organize pop-up events to watch and discuss the films and share this on the official Facebook page: facebook.com/opfest.
