»memo« is a prototype of a device that enables you to leave short messages in public or private space. The box itself woks as input device that detects its own movement and recognizes it as written letters. The resulting message can be displayed by tilting the box on the side and is stored on a flash memory, hence still there when you switch it off and on again.

For this project, the intercoms in these buildings have been modified using small audio receivers, enabling fragments of dialogs and extracts of minutes, derived from published Stasi files, to be heard through them.
