Memorphosis is a four hour durational performance/installation by Sophie Giblin. During this time Sophie will physicalise her abstracted interpretation of the metamorphosing human memory by drawing horizontal lines by the thousand. Memorphosis investigates the neuroscience of the human memory. This theme originates from Sophie's personal anxiety with dyslexia and her imminent dread of dementia. This obscure performance expresses themes of illness, obsession, metamorphosis and slowness. She is challenging not only herself, but also her audience.
Sophie Giblin performed at the De La Warr Pavilion's Dear Serge event on 17th August 2013.
