In the middle of no where, we found ourselves watching and filming the second comp of the MDU series. The track was short, but the drivers drove it hard. Congratulations to the winners: Rolando Alfaro in 1st, Brian Peter in 2nd, and Steve Topping in 3rd.
Gateway Motorsports Park presents Mid Summer Drift, a practice event utilizing the entire parking lot as the course. I used the DJI Phantom for the first time for an entire event and am extremely happy with the result so far.
The 3rd round of MDU at Heartland Raceway resulted in some amazing driving. Utilizing the massive skid pad, we were seeing minimum entry speeds of 60mph. There was a constant wind making it hard on some of the drivers as well as media. Congrats to the winners:
1st - Brian Peter
2nd - Steve Topping
3rd - Eric Moen
Big thanks to MDU and their staff and David Mesker with Country Drift for making it possible for me to come out and film!
The build project is underway. Last year David drove this 240 with a SR20 and a 2JZ in the MDU Pro-Am series. During the last lap of the last event, his motor let go. For this year, he has been rebuilding the entire car. The 2JZ engine is being stroked to 3.4L with Brian Crower parts. He has a Garrett GTX series turbo being installed. The car now sports a rear mounted radiator setup and Wisefab front steering angle kit.
Basically, the car is going to be awesome.
And don't forget, he is still looking for sponsors for this season and next season.
