D90 Low light Test. Also wanted to add somethiing to DSLRFlix.com . 35 mins of footage edited quickly in iMovie in just over an hour.

Didn't edit it to the music ( just threw it in there ) and made up the story as I went along ( it's all just from test footage ).

Wanted to see how bad and grainy shooting with hardly any light would look. Looks pretty good to me!

The white balance is strange in some of the shots because i was experimenting with it.

Everything is shot with ambient light only.

In this survival tale, a hiker emerges from a snow covered mountain to find a remote cabin. The rescuer inside takes action to become a hero.

This is our first short narrative film shot on the Canon 5D Mark II. The only lenses used were a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 and a Canon 70mm - 300mm f/4-f/5.6.

The film was edited on Vegas, and includes full color grading. It looks pretty good, but we've learned some tricks during the process that will improve and simplify our next project.

The music is 100% original. We produced all of the music and sound effects. The only sound remaining that we recorded on location is the moan, and it was captured with the onboard mic.

Personally, I think the mix rocks. TURN IT UP! :)

Shot in about 90 minutes. All available light (with the help of some industrial halogens). Most if not all was shot in the high ISO range (3200-6400). I used a Sennheiser wireless mic which worked surprisingly well since I couldn't monitor it. It's a bit hot so I might turn it down (at the mic) next time.

Interviews were on a tripod, the rest was handheld. Everything was shot with the 24-105mm f/4 IS lens (this is the lens, I believe, that comes with the kit).

I thought it was a pretty good test of the camera (crappy light, etc) and I'm frankly sold on it. Post production was a bit of a bear but I think we'll all get the kinks worked out the more we use it.
