  2. This is the stabilized version of the video found here: 60421962">vimeo.com/60421962

Video footage taken with a DJI Phantom quadcopter with a GoPro HERO 3 Black camera shooting at 1080/60p, medium FOV. A few short fragments are slowed down 50% to match the 30 fps playback speed. Stabilized in post in FCPx.

DJI Phantom mods: balanced Graupner 8x5 carbon fiber props, and a two tiny strips of Sorbothane placed underneath the GoPro mount (the contact surface between the GoPro mount and the Phantom wasn't quite right after removing the mount a few times, and it was rattling around).

  5. Howard Hall (howardhall.com) took me up for a flight in his ultralight experimental trike over Anza Borrego Desert on December 29, 2012. We flew across the desert to the Salton Sea and back. I love ultralights; his flies as slowly as 60 MPH, and a view of terrain from above is always enlightening.

Footage was taken with a Sony RX100 at 1080/60p, 28Mbps, and is unmodified aside from transcoding to 720/30p H.264, 5-7Mbps for web upload.
