1. The ESI Lab entered an interactive sculpture in the 2013 Figments Arts Festival that takes place on Governor's Island in New York City. The piece, Reverberation, was a study in play and sound, creating a space where movement and captured sound formed a soundscape. Made from simple components, with ingenuity of design provided by the designers, the installation was a hit with children when it opened in June 2013. The designers are Chris Niederer, Emily Webster and Maria Rizzolo.

To showcase AT&T’s position as a leader in the cross-platform communications space, ESI designed the AT&T AdWorks Media Lab, an innovative experience and sales platform that promotes AT&T’s customized ad solutions and inspires brands to forge more informed, effective and meaningful connections with the right customers at the right time. Through compelling storytelling, data visualizations and high-tech demonstrations, the Media Lab enables AT&T prospects (brands, agencies and planners) to interact with the deep wealth of data and customized advertising solutions AT&T provides, leading to increased sales.

    The Media Lab experience is a dynamic sensory experience that demonstrates valuable information at successive moments from entry through exit. Each visit’s content is tailored to the guest, from the lighting and visual displays in the reception area to the full presentation components in the main Media Lab space. Guided by an AT&T facilitator, guests proceed from reception through an illuminated hallway with a “living” data wall featuring a mirrored multi-touch display, and dynamic visualizations of real-time data streams captured from AT&T’s diverse customer base. In the main presentation room the facilitator demonstrates
    the power of AT&T’s advertising solutions and delivery platforms against the digital backdrop of the media bar. Here, the full experience comes to life as the facilitator manipulates onscreen data and content to illustrate key features and capabilities. The dynamic demos highlight the power of creating a targeted and unified multiplatform communications strategy utilizing AT&T’s cutting edge capabilities.

  4. PNC Bank wanted to develop an innovative new facility for community engagement and revitalization in Cleveland, Ohio. Rather than design for the community, ESI designed the center with the community, leveraging PNC’s existing partnerships with the city’s cultural, educational, social, and faith-based organizations to begin the conversation with community members.

    ESI designed the community center’s physical environment, software/media systems, and the programs that address the community’s interests and concerns. The PNC Fairfax Connection now offers an extensive calendar of workshops centered around technology training for adults and youth, financial empowerment for residents and small business owners, reading readiness for preschoolers, educational enrichment for students, GED- and college prep, and senior citizen projects to preserve community’s rich cultural history.

    The Connection celebrated its first year anniversary in October 2013. The center’s one-year record boasted powerful improvements in the community and for PNC’s brand. The social, economic and education programs have helped Fairfax residents improve their lives and surveys performed throughout the community show that the favorability rating of the PNC brand has doubled among people who visited the community center. The PNC Fairfax Connection is a great example of community-corporate partnership where brand and local strength are improved in tandem.
