NIU's Blackboard system is scheduled to upgraded in June 2013 to Release 9.1 Service Pack 11. This update will deliver a more user-friendly and modern experience for students and faculty alike and include many exciting new features like the Inline Assignment Grading feature. Inline Assignment Grading is a revision to the workflow for grading Assignments in Blackboard. Instead of downloading student-submitted files to view or edit those submissions, faculty will now be able to view student-submitted files “inline,” i.e. in the web browser, without requiring any plugins, applets, or client-side applications. Additionally, annotation tools will be made available as part of the inline viewer, enabling faculty to provide feedback including comments, highlights, and even drawings/annotations directly on the inline view of the document. This workshop offered 5/10/2013 prepared participants for the anticipated Blackboard upgrade and gave a preview and demonstration of the Inline Assignment Grading feature.
