Ah... my return to the game industry happened after being hired by EA Chicago 2005. Was hired to work on game animations... but because of my previous background, I ended up working on this teaser cinematic for Def Jam ICON.
Here's where I did all the motion capture editing, with some handkeyed facial animation and lip-sync. My friend Andy Konieczny animated the villian in black getting thrown back in the final shot.
It's too bad the game itself…

Here's one of the test animations I did for EA Chicago's last (failed) projects Marvel 2, before the studio shut down.
This is all keyframe animated in motionbuilder... I realize the starting point is a bit odd, but only because it's an attack animation that is meant to be part of a chain of attacks.
I did quite a few of these, but managed to salvage only a couple.
Another fun Joker scene... this time he decides to challenge Kano, after taking down Sonya.
Same deal... I had to heavily keyframe edit this mocap of Joker to make him more like well, Joker. Also animated all the facial and lip-sync of Joker, Kano and Deathstroke.
This is the full version of the Trooper Ochestra. The original length was only 30 seconds and was meant to play during the credits of "LEGO Star Wars: Revenge Of The Brick.", but we were told George Lucas liked it so much that he wanted a slightly extended version which is this one.
I animated Vader and all the camera work for this 1min version. Another animator offsite did the clone troopers.
The work was predominantly done at Treehouse Animation…
This was the first cut scene in MK vs DCU that I was assigned to, prior to my departure from Midway.
I did Joker and Batman's facial animation and finger animations. The bodies were all motion captured, which I also had to heavily (keyframe) edit, especially Joker's in order to give him his personality (ironic, 'cause motion capture is suppose to provide all that).
The quality of this clip isn't great. I'm hoping to get a better version at some…
One of the earliest assignments I had when I began working at Midway. I did (only) the keyframe facial animation and lip-sync for the Romanian crime boss, Radu.
This was a work in progress with tentative lighting and camera cuts. Those and the mocap editing were done by someone else.
In this scene, Milo's (Vin Diesel) exploits as a hired-gun becomes known to the Romanian mafia after he fulfilled a task againts one of their rivals. Their leader…
This is another scene I did keyframe facial animation and lip-sync on the 3 main characters.
The mocap editing and camera cuts were done by someone else.
In this scene, Milo (Vin Diesel) reveals to his fellow "wheelmen" that one of their own had been secretly working with the Romanian mafia. The trio join forces as Milo hatches a plan to expose the traitor.
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
