Freedom of Movement

From Thursday 21st - Saturday 23rd March 2013 NVA's Speed of Light came to Salford Quays, Greater Manchester. Staged previously in Edinburgh and Yokohama in Japan it uses light and movement.

Hundreds of runners wearing special LED suits move through the night creating wonderful swirling patterns.

This piece was made using time lapse.

At the moment I am working on a rig to use with stop motion and time lapse. The rig indexes on two axes (tilt/pan) and will eventually traverse and hopefully zoom/focus. It is designed to step to pre-determined positions on computed trajectory but in a manner that give fluid flow in "3D".
