An animation I created in Maya and composited with After Effects. A story of the evolution of technology and how we can revive older equipment and fuse it with the new to create something amazing. Sound editing was done in GarageBand with a track by Louis Armstrong and The Advantage. I also designed and modeled the characters.
I put this animation together in 3DS MAX and AFTER EFFECTS... my goal was to use the cel shading texture tool and to sync animation to audio successfully. Original drum beat was made in REASON, all content created by Fred Heidbrink 2007.

AFTER EFFECTS and ILLUSTRATOR were used here to create the animation. I learned how to use 3D cameras/planes, and how to import artwork from ILLUSTRATOR into AE to animate. Music by THE BOOKS and THE BEATLES.
The fabled 12th planet returns to our galaxy in 2012, decimating our home of Earth in its disastrous path. I focused on using sound as a narrative to a quick cause-and-effect animation, and rendering believable, realistic looking planets with the help of bump mapping. Modeled with MAYA and animated in AFTER EFFECTS.
