I used the 6" Matthews Suction Cup with camera mount, to attach the 5D Mark II to the driver's door, very low, close to the ground. The 16-35 mm 2,8L lens is quite heavy. Everything worked fine. I did have the camera strap looped over the mirror though, just in case. After driving for a few minutes at speeds up to 70 km/h, the pressure in the suction cup stayed the same.
