Image quality is far sharper in the downloaded 1080p version since Vimeo only streams at a low bitrate 720p and scales that to full screen.

Shot handheld on the Panasonic GH2. 44Mbit AVCHD hack, noise reduction set low on Nostalgic film mode and contrast -1. Mostly mid-ISOs, didn't need to push it. This lens is BRIGHT!

It is also very WIDE but not too wide. This is currently the closest I can get to reproducing the look of Undercity on a crop sensor camera. That was shot on the 5D Mark II with Canon 24mm F1.4L.

Gear: Panasonic GH2, Letus Talon K1, SmallHD DP6, LOMO 35mm F2, Zeiss 50mm F1.4, sound from onboard GH2 mic - we wanted to capture a lot of stereo ambience and background noise in a raw and gritty way.

Shot over 2 evenings in London with students from the Royal Academy of Dramatic arts. Total shoot time was around 3 hours per evening.

Two brothers decide to explore a drained industrial reservoir in the English countryside.

Shot on the Panasonic GH2 version 1.0 in 24p cinema mode with cinema gamma. Shots of bridge bathed in street lamp orange are ISO 3200.

Water and house on hill is with 1:1 crop mode effectively turning my 85MM Zeiss into a 400mm F1.4!

I used a Carl Zeiss Jena 35mm F2.4 which is a standard lens but has a good close minimum focus distance of 0.2 metres which is almost 1:2 macro. Of course, you can get closer with dedicated macro lenses.

Now, the GH2's 1:1 crop feature dramatically increases the macro and telephoto capabilities of a lens, turning an standard macro lens into a super duper one, and a standard 85mm F1.4 portrait lens into a 400mm F1.4

Great for macro and low light telephoto, and saves you having to swap lenses or even buy a macro and telephoto lens in the first place to shoot video.
