Allen Poirson, PhD comments on the launch of Glaucoma 360 during a break in the 2012 New Horizons Forum meeting, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California.
H. Dunbar Hoskins, Jr., MD, Co-founder of Glaucoma Research Foundation, discusses Glaucoma 360 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, February, 2012.
Progress in medicine is not always fast. But it requires three things. It requires dedicated scientists. It requires observant and involved clinicians. And it requires industry; industry to participate and bring forth to the market those devices and those drugs that are created through the two former groups. Without that combination, without that partnership, we would make no progress. The future we are recognizing today is a recognition that, through Glaucoma 360, we're bringing all those groups together to try to advance the developments for the purpose of one reason: to benefit the patients.
Glaucoma 360 is a series of three events uniting research, industry, and philanthropy with one mission — to find a cure for glaucoma. Presented by Glaucoma Research Foundation. More information: glaucoma360.org
