To celebrate Vancouver's 125th Birthday, the Vancouver International Children's Festival asked Vancouver artists to design sculptural works on Granville Island that children could interact with and become part of the creation process. Featuring a large scale collaborative sculpture from iecreative.ca, environmental art from Nicole Dextras (nicoledextras.com) and Haruko Okano, and a drumming installation from Luke J. Parnell (haidatotempoles.blogspot.com).

Produced by michaelsider.com for the Vancouver International Children's Festival (childrensfestival.ca).

Michael Sider Plus

A slice of life on Granville Island, in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In the middle of the city, Granville Island is an oasis. Boasting artisans, a public market, many restaurants and boutiques, and Emily Carr School of Design, Granville Island is also the hub of live theater in Vancouver, and the location of a variety of festivals year round.
