New client--So much fun to work with.
I was planning to shoot footage for a montage over music only.
(In fact I did not bring any lighting for an interview set-up.)
Fortunately there was a huge window in the kitchen that allowed for some wonderful natural spill, and even provided a nice backdrop with the on-going photoshoot.
Pastry Chef Tandra Watkins is an amazing talent, and so much fun to work with.
Given the available space, limited amount of time that Chef Tandra has, as well as the fairly consistent number of segments that we produce, this is a fairly simple setup, regarding the shooting and editing process.
One horizontal Kino four-by four-bank, a wireless lav on Chef, camera, sticks, and that's it.
We shoot it twice: once with a locked-down medium wideshot for her VO/SOT portions, and again for all of the cutaways.
Very simple. Takes about 30 minutes per segment--A lot of that encompasses actual cooking time.
An excerpt from a mini-doc that I shot, produced, and edited at Arkansas Children's Hospital.
I absolutely fell in love with this family.
The daughter is nine, and has had two bouts with cancer. With her family's support, this child endured aggressive therapy that had some harsh side effects.
She is in remission.
This family is the epitome of ACH's Care, Love and Hope.
(Side note: This mom's interview is one of the longest, most compelling interviews that I've shot. Many tears. Much laughter.)
This is the last video that I did as a full-time employee for ACH.
And what a wonderful way to wrap things up.
This project really focuses on the keys to being a good doctor, and really a good co-worker, in general:
a sense of humor, patience, humility, and an honest approach to teamwork.
Being a part of ACH was truly an amazing part of my professional life.
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
