My Students traveled to Mississippi to document the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the efforts to rebuild the city of Bay St. Louis. Upon their return, these eight students worked to produce the 40-minute documentary, capturing the spirit of the community and hopes for rebuilding their town. (2001) The story of Lee Kessler, a Canton artist, and former US Air Force prisoner of war. Captured in Germany 1943, after parachuting from his airplane when it was shot down. He spent eight months in Stalag 7A, then was sent to the infamous Stalag 17B. He survived the death march to Mauthausen concentration camp.
(2000) Stark County Native Harry Hall, US Air Force, Retired, served as a radio operator for the Allies under General McArthur in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Hall and his crew flew many missions during the war, including a mission know as the “Forbidden Flight”.
