  2. This is my submission for "Anterior Cingulate Cortex". It's the name for the coming DVD from Perpetual Beta, a platform and network for the visualization of Netlabel Music that offers quality Graphic- and Motion Design to Netlabels and Musicians working under the Creative Commons License. The platform will be online end of 2012. More Infos on this project soon!

It's a collaboration with the Berlin based musician Huron, who creates this amazing soundtrack for that movie.
I wanted to create a mixture of experimental footage and martial art moves which should support the dynamic of the sound.

  4. Paul Frankland, aka Woob, has been one of my favorite ambient/electronic artists for a long time. He has made me the honor of providing "Paradigm Flux", a new track of his, as the soundtrack for this new time lapse piece.

Paul is among the most acclaimed ambient musicians of his generation and has created several milestones of the genre, including the well loved Woob 1194 and Woob 4495 albums on the late Nottingham-based em:t label.

If you like great evocative, cinematic ambient music combining organic elements with world and dub influences, by all means check out his latest album, "Repurpose": woob.bandcamp.com/album/repurpose

"Paradigm Flux" is available here: woob.bandcamp.com/album/paradigm-flux-ep

You can also find an interview regarding the process of making time lapse movies on his blog here: season9.wordpress.com/2010/08/06/floating-point-an-interview-with-samuel-cockedey/

  5. Time-lapse footage taken at the Very Large Array in Socorro, New Mexico; one of the largest Radio Astronomy Observatories in the world.

As a learning exercise, and something to challenge myself, I wanted to try to combine two of my favorite things: motion-graphics and time-lapse photography.
I also wanted to see if I could stretch my editing techniques a little further.

The VLA really is a legitimately amazing thing to see in person. If you've ever considered making a visit, you should.
It's an awe-inspiring feat of human engineering, and the surroundings are gorgeous. Unbelievable skies in New Mexico. I caught some nasty weather, but it was still a great experience. I'm definitely going back!
