'Cinderella's Revenge- Layers of Interpretation', a collaboration with film director Catherine Taylor.
The concept for this short film in three parts is based around an immense sculptural lighting piece 'Cinderella’s Revenge' created by artist /designer Fiona Gall. 'Cinderella’s Revenge' is an interpretation of the structural form and imagination of shoes created by shoe designer Terry De Havilland whose shoes transcend pure function by their nature in terms of both material and form.
For women, shoes influence how we walk, they give us a sense of power, and they become objects of desire.
In these films ('Sound of the Shoe', 'Smoke and Mirrors' and 'Pain and Grace') Catherine Taylor explores the sounds of shoes, their shape, form and function, and ultimately their theatrical presence.
