I recently had the pleasure of working with my good friends at Onitsuka Tiger to shoot and Direct their new 'My Town, My Tracks' campaign here in Sydney.
You may have seen my still images running in mags, in stores and online, and now, I can unveil the videos that run with the campaign too - made by yours truly.
Bondi is already an iconic staple on the Vans global map (Bowl-a-rama is a Vans sponsored skating mecca that takes place here each year), and now another landmark has popped up for the brand with their new Bondi Junction store.
I was invited to shoot the space for Vans, which is a great addition if you're in the area and want some Vans shoes or apparel with all the regular styles plus some specials too like the hot Liberty print, the OTW collection, and my favourite; the Vans California range.
Everyone's sneaker story is of interest to me on I Dig Your Sole Man, but when someone makes the journey from the Sydney suburbs, to becoming a world name, and landing the Holy Grail of having a Signature Pro shoe named after them it's guaranteed to get my interest.
Case in question is Australian skater Chima Fergusons, whose first signature Vans Pro skate shoe has generated a lot of interest around the world, and I was lucky enough to get some exclusive time with the supreme skater to discuss what skating means to him, and how stoked he is to be involved with a shoe collab like this.
Overlaid with vision of a skater wearing the shoes, the video showcases inner city skating in Sydney, the city where it all began for Chima.

When the German Premium shoe brand sent me some of their fantastic product, I was instantly impressed with the attention to detail. The shoes are chic to look at, and fantastically made. If you add to this the incredibly well thought out boxes that double as a display case it dawned on me that these are shoes to be enjoyed of works of art - so what would happen if they were displayed in an Art Gallery?
To test this, I displayed them in the Sydney Salerno Gallery, and the shoes hadn't been on display for long before an art loving customer was captivated by the shoes. She had gone into the gallery to look at paintings, but the shoes were the thing that drew her attention. And this is NOT a stunt, this is all genuine!
A big thanks to the Salerno Gallery and VOR.

Something a little different today, as rather than the sole's of shoes I've something barefoot to showcase, literally, as inspired by my current love/obsession with sand running shoes don't have much of a place...but premium athletic apparel does.
I was excited to be asked to put something a little bit different to the test in the form of the new Puma ACTV Apparel range.
ACTV is compression clothing designed to be worn during workouts, and combines science with style/comfort in the running tights that have made a huge difference to my own running. On the science side - elasticized silicone tape is strategically placed on the inside of the garments to provide micro-massage in specific areas to the skin.
And on the comfort and style side they literally fit like a glove, and combine reflective logos for visibility, mesh panels for breathability, zippered side pockets for convenience, and dryCELL for wicking and comfort.
In terms of showing them off for this short fashion film I needed some help, and enlisted Kyle to wear the tights, and also Bondi Beach, my stomping ground for sand running. The location is pretty epic and formidable first thing in the morning, and these tights are perfect to get you through it.
