The Bonn Climate Change Conference continued on Friday, opening with an SBI plenary to address the issue of the agenda. A number of informal consultations and workshops convened on routine items under the SBSTA. The ADP also convened, including informal consultations on how to proceed.
The ongoing delay for the SBI was addressed in a crowded plenary and a friends’ of the chair group was established to try and resolve the issue.
In the afternoon a workshop convened on the need to improve coordination of support for the implementation of REDD-plus. Chair Keith Anderson introduced the workshop.
The Bonn Climate Change Talks continued on Thursday with a number of contact groups, information consultations and workshops meeting under the SBSTA. Delegates also convened for a number of activities under the ADP.
During lunch delegates and observers attended the informal consultations by the incoming presidency of COP 19, taking place this November in Warsaw, Poland. The Polish presidency outlined their vision for COP 19, assuring they would conduct a transparent, inclusive and party driven process, while facilitating meaningful stakeholder engagement.
Delegates and observers then identified their outcome priorities.
Day three of the Bonn Climate Change Conference opened with participants continuing to wait out the impasse over the SBI’s agenda. Meanwhile contact groups and informal consultations convened under the SBSTA. Roundtables under the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (the ADP) took place.
In the morning, the opening plenary of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform (ADP) convened, as well as the Forum on Response Measures. In the afternoon, the following meetings convened: second meeting of the Durban Forum on Capacity Building; SBSTA research dialogue; and ADP Workstream 1 Roundtable on a Variety of Actions. In the morning and afternoon, various contact groups and informal consultations were held under SBSTA.
