In dialogue with DI [di.dk/] Kollision [kollision.dk/] developed the interactive facade design ‘Urban Canvas’ for the HQ of The Confederation of Danish Industry, which was used for Culture Night in Copenhagen October 2013. Urban Canvas allows by-passers at the busy town square to interact with the facade by using their smartphones. By simply entering a mobile website, users can paint on the facade by swiping their finger across the touch screen of their smart phone, instantly painting with light on a 4,000 m2 urban canvas. Multiple users could use the system simultaneously, creating a busy and playful collaborative artwork that kept on changing through out the Culture Night.
Urban Canvas is based on and part of the Media Facade Dia Lights which is described in greater detail here: kollision.dk/en/IH
